Job Summary
As a HSQE Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a robust health, safety, quality, and environmental culture across our organisation. You will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, internal policies, and best practices, fostering a proactive approach to HSQE issues. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving behavioural change, improving HSQE performance, and leading initiatives that contribute to a safe and sustainable workplace.
What You Will Do

Ensure that the company adheres to relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, policies, and best practices.

Stay current with changes in legislation and industry standards to provide timely updates and recommendations.

Update and enhance company management systems relating to health, safety, environment, and quality, ensuring they reflect best practice and compliance requirements.

Collaborate with the senior management team to create and implement strategies that promote improved HSQE performance, fostering a culture of safety and responsibility throughout the organisation.

Conduct comprehensive in-house HSQE training programs for employees, emphasising the importance of safety and environmental practices.

Develop training materials and tools designed to raise awareness and educate staff on HSQE issues.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on HSQE matters, addressing concerns and sharing best practices to enhance collaborative efforts.

Assist project managers in complying with CDM regulations, including the production and review of Construction Phase Plans.

Lead thorough investigations into incidents, generating detailed reports that identify root causes, contributing factors, and actionable recommendations for improvement.

Analyse accident and incident statistics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, preparing reports for senior management review.

Conduct toolbox talks and briefings to promote a culture of health and safety within the workforce.

Conduct HSQE onboarding sessions for new employees, ensuring familiarity with company documents, systems, and processes.

Understand and apply ISO 9001 and 14001 standards, conducting internal audits and on-site inspections to ensure compliance with procedures and practices.

Oversee the adherence to company accreditations, managing annual renewal processes and coordinating external audits to guarantee successful outcomes.

Ensure all HSQE documentation is accurately maintained, including updates, reviews, and changes, with a rigorous quality-checking process in place.

Conduct audits of subcontractors to verify compliance with company HSQE standards and processes, including the review and approval of new subcontractor applications.

Complete pre-qualification questionnaires and manage annual updates of customer documentation and information.
Ideal Candidate Experience

NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification in health and safety.
-
Experience in health and safety within an engineering or construction environment.
-
Experience of conducting internal and external audits, including on-site reviews.

Familiarity with NERS and its relevance to the industry.

Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 principles.
-
Proficient in using IT tools and systems for reporting, data analysis, and documentation management.

Full clean driving licence.
