 Job Summary 

As a member of the Project Delivery team, you will contribute to substation and infrastructure projects, renewable energy initiatives, contestable connections, and private network installations. This position involves overseeing and managing all aspects of high voltage projects, from planning to execution and completion, including undertaking HV switching at 11kV or 33kV. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent project management skills, and a keen understanding of high voltage systems.

This role will require travel throughout the UK and overnight stays.

 What You Will Do 

  • Collaborate closely with clients to fully understand project requirements and expectations, fostering strong relationships  throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Estimate costs, timelines, and resource allocation for individual projects, ensuring that all financial and scheduling commitments are realistic and achievable.

  • Define project deliverables and tasks, outlining corresponding material and resource requirements necessary for successful implementation.

  • Develop a comprehensive programme of works required for project delivery, ensuring efficient execution and timely completion.

  • Evaluate, organise, and prioritise workload within a schedule to meet project deadlines.

  • Define the scope of supply for sub-contractors, selecting and engaging them to fulfil specific project needs, while ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.

  • Compile detailed Work Packages, Job Instructions, and RAMS to ensure adherence to safety and performance standards.

  • Oversee and coordinate the work of technicians, craftspeople, and sub-contractors.

  • Manage individual project resource allocation.

  • Continuously review the performance of technicians, craftspeople, and sub-contractors, providing constructive feedback and fostering professional development.

  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other interested parties to manage project objectives, deliverables, and expectations effectively, ensuring alignment and transparency.

  • Proactively manage project changes, assessing impacts on scope, budget, and timeline, and communicating these changes to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Manage individual project budgets, monitoring financial performance.

  • Ensure that projects comply with all safety requirements and regulations, fostering a culture of safety among team members and stakeholders.

  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and audits, both internally and for sub-contractors.

 Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling.

  • SAP up to and including 33kV.

  • Full clean driving licence.

  • HNC in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Distribution, or an equivalent qualification.

  • Demonstrated experience in Private Networks and/or the Renewable Energy sector.

  • In-depth knowledge of current Health & Safety Legislations and best practices within the industry.

  • Current HV / LV authorisation (11kV and 33kV private networks or DNO).

  • CSCS / ECS Card.

  • MEWP licence.

  • Scaffolding (PASMA).

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and flow diagrams.​
