Client:

Elveden Farms Ltd

Project Name: Chamberlain Farm Connection

Date: January – August 2018

Brief Description Of The Works:

The client approached EAST Solutions to provide a new 1000kVA import power supply connection from the local DNO, UK Power Networks. The contestable connection element of the works comprised the design of the electrical system to be adopted by the DNO. This therefore had to meet with UKPN’s standards in terms of the installation and the equipment that was being proposed as part of the works. The design stage included outlining the proposed electrical system to be connected as well as the earthing design inclusive of soil resistivity test, protection and control design and cable route/trench design. The design package was produced by EAST Solutions inhouse design team and submitted to the DNO for approval.

Once the design was accepted, the project was approved and the works were undertaken. The installation works included the civil elements such as excavation of the cable trench and the construction of the substation bases. As part of the works EAST supplied and installed the cable, a GRP Contestable Metering Substation as well as the small power and lighting. The earthing system was installed as per the approved design specification. Finally EAST installed a new 11kV RMU, 11kv/433V Distribution Transformer and associated LV Distribution Cabinet. All works were commissioned, tested and energised to the satisfaction of the client.

Client:

Future Fuel

Project Name: Kingsnorth Industrial Estate, Bio Diesel Connection

Date: May 2017 – January 2018

Brief Description Of The Works:

The client appointed EAST Solutions to provide a new 11kV connection for the Kingsnorth Industrial site. The project required a new connection from UK Power Networks and EAST obtained this on behalf of the client. EAST’s work package included the full design of the proposed scheme including SLD, specifying HV switchgear, earthing design, protection and control design, substation layout and proposal of cable routes and trenching design.

The project involved the installation of 2 new 11kV cable circuits to the new metering substation. A fully fitted GRP metering substation was supplied and installed by EAST in accordance with the DNO’s specification. This included the provision of a new 11kV RMU as well as installation of the substation earthing and all power and lighting.

Client:

Brightwell Estates

Project Name: Brightwell Barns

Date: March – July 2017

Brief Description Of The Works:

The client approached EAST Solutions to provide a new connection for the Brightwell Barns development. As part of the work scope EAST supplied and installed a package substation containing a 315kVA Transformer. The design scope covered the specification of the proposed new network as well as associated straight line diagram and the intended cable route. The design was submitted to the DNO, UK Power Networks and following full approval the installation phase began.

As part of the project a new 11kV cable was installed along the agreed route. This included installation in both private land as well as the public bridleway. EAST also undertook the trench excavation and installation for cable duct in preparation for the new cable. The total cable route for the new aluminium triplex 185mm cable was 320 meters. The foundation for the new substation was built and following this the GRP substation was sited and cables connected into the new 11kV circuit breaker and 11kV/433V transformer. On the LV side of the system EAST supplied and installed a transformer mounted 4-way 800amo LV Distribution Cabinet and associated LV cabling. All works were fully commissioned and witnessed by the DNO prior to energisation and adoption.
