Operations Manager

Our Operations & Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining and inspecting HV and LV assets under ongoing maintenance agreements, as well as working on installation jobs across various sites including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, AD, and battery storage.

 Job Summary 

In this role, you will support the O&M Director, project managers, operational staff, and the administrative team. As the line manager for project managers and operational staff, you will serve as a point of escalation, aiding in the delivery of our portfolio of maintenance agreements, addressing reactive work, and handling technical or commercial issues.

This role will require travel throughout the UK and overnight stays.

 What You Will Do 

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the O&M portfolio being delivered by the department.

  • Report directly to the O&M Director and serve as acting Director during their absence.

  • Engage in daily communication with project managers, SAPs, technicians, and the admin team to ensure project alignment.

  • Identify staffing needs and participate in the recruitment process as required.

  • Ensure adherence to company health and safety procedures.

  • Oversee resource allocation for scheduled tasks.

  • Assess the performance of project managers, SAPs, technicians, and subcontractors.

  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and other parties to manage project objectives, deliverables, and expectations.

  • Assist project engineers in managing project budgets and financial performance.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

  • Provide technical support to operational staff as needed.

  • Conduct periodic audits of SAPs and technicians.

  • Participate in the panel for SAP authorisation.

 Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Full clean driving licence.

  • Good IT skills.

  • HNC in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power distribution, or equivalent qualifications.

  • Proven experience in private networks and the renewable energy sector.

  • Comprehensive understanding of current Health & Safety Legislations.

  • Proficiency in protection testing.

  •  Authorised (or previously authorised) for switching at 11kV/33kV.

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and flow diagrams
