 Job Summary 

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support our Project Director and Project Engineers in their department. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all operational activities within the team, including overseeing the line management of all Technicians.

This role will require travel throughout the UK and overnight stays.

 What You Will Do 

  • You will have an in-depth understanding of all projects being delivered in the department. You will provide oversight and management of project progress and act as a point of escalation above the other project engineers to help progress projects and deal with any technical or commercial issues

  •  You will report directly to the Project Director and act as cover when the Director is on leave.

  • Liaise with the design team to ensure progress is on track for all newly awarded projects and act as a point of contact for projects that are about to be awarded (prior to construction PO being issued).

  • Communicate daily with other project engineers/project support manager/admin to ensure projects are on track

  • Identify resource requirements and be involved in the recruitment of additional members of the team including project engineers and technicians.

  • Oversee overall project resource allocation and evaluate the performance of project engineers, technicians, and sub-contractors.

  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other interested parties to ensure individual project objectives, deliverables, and expectations are managed/maintained.

  • Support other project engineers in managing the projects' budget and financial performance.

  • You will ensure projects comply with company H&S processes and procedures

  • You will ensure that individual projects meet technical system performance requirements.

 Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Good IT skills

  • HNC in Electrical Engineering ideally in Power Distribution, or equivalent

  • Track record of experience in private networks and/or the renewable energy sector

  • The ability to interpret technical diagrams and explain design ideas clearly. The ability to analyse complex problems and assess possible solutions

  • Experience coordinating the work of technicians, craftspeople, and sub-contractors
